Hey, Fit Fam! I’m Melissa. I’ve been certified in PiYo since August 2016 and began teaching this format at KTown Shakedown in August 2017 after moving to Kearney from Brookings, SD. I’m an assistant professor at UNK, a wife, and a mama to a beautiful little girl. I teach PiYo, which is an amazing workout that combines strength, balance, and fun. It’s based on yoga and Pilates, but it ain’t your mama’s yoga! The music is fun and you can sing along while you sweat. PiYo is an excellent compliment to any other exercise you do. It carried me through half and full marathon training without injury. This class is for beginners and veterans with lots of options to fit your fitness level and challenging you to the next.
